...which reminds me of something almost totally off-topic. A friend had her Macbook stolen recently...from our house, along with my wife's old ThinkPad and a couple of bikes. The police just *recovered* one bike and two laptops minus a WiFi card, a carry case and a couple of keycaps on the Thinkpad. But the Macbook now insists it has "No battery present", in spite of the fact that there is very obviously a battery physically present with no obvious damage to it. Does anybody out in Mac-land have any ideas on why? (I note there is one of those "press the battery and see how many LEDs light up" charge meter things on the bottom...no LEDs light up). FWIW, the thieves were kind enough to munge up the directory structure, take pictures of selves with webcam and also leave common fingerprints on (i) the laptops, (ii) the desk in our study, (iii) themselves. Things are not looking up for the young lads. Now I have to find out what the insurance wants to do since they have now paid us out for 2xHP530s and the bikes (of which we bought one new one). -- Soren Aalto Director: ICT University of Zululand --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "CTJUG Forum" group.
