I found no problems using CCI subsonics in my 10/22. They very consistent
and only minimal noise. Some Winchester S/Sonic are "crackers" though.
My S/Mod is the Parker Hale.
Thought,,, the bolt should be fairly stiff to pull back after you have dry
fired it. If it comes back REAL easy maybe the return spring is weak and
the bolt unit is being driven back too early in the cartridge detonation
sequence??
Someone must have a "pull weight" test for what it should be (use a fishing
scale / balance to get the poundage).

The CCI subsonics we tried were supersonic out of a 10/22 with a PH
suppressor. Depends on the temperature to some extent as well.
