I have just taken delivery of a suppressed Mk4 .303 for use on goats.
Haven't fired it in the field yet - waiting for a friend to cast me some 200
grain bullets so I can make up some ammo - but fired in the workshop it was
no louder than a handclap so should be pretty near inaudible on a windy
hillside.
I have found using a moderator on a semi auto to be generally unsatisfactory
because of the action noise. Most animals are very sensitive to metallic
noises of any sort and now I use a Brno model 2E which is quiet enough that
it wouldn't disturb the neighbours even on a quiet night if I was to pop a
possum off the back fence - NOT that I would ever do so!!!
Regards,
David.

I remember Guy's suppressed Mini-Uzi which clattered away on full-auto.
MP5SDs are a lot of fun. Provided you use the right locking piece. Oops.
LEI are selling suppressed .45 Delisle carbines at the moment, I'm trying
to think of a reason to buy one but I think it's too much hassle to clean
for target shooting and I can't think of any pest around here best dealt
with by a .45. Not that I could legally shoot, anyway.
Steve.
