Yes for now. Delphi for .NET – Octane – that is due for release by the end of the year will be 100% .NET and run inside the same IDE as the C#Builder one. It will not support the Win32 platform simply because there is not enough time to build it in. Shortly after that release (3-4 months) there is due another release of Delphi which _will_ include the Win32 compile. What does this mean? It means if you want to compile your app under .NET use Octane, if you want to compile it for Win32 – use D7 until the new one gets released when you can choose your target.
No, it does not mean you have to purchase two different IDEs – those who took up the software assurance from last quarter will get the .NET upgrade and (unless something seriously goes wrong) the .NET/win32 combo. That’s AFAIK of course.

I have been reading the borland open letter to the delphi community, and the very agitated comments posted on the article.
Im a little unclear as to what to expect with delphi 8. Can someone clear some things up for me please.
In light of the fact that they are saying Therefore, we have increased our focus on .NET technology in Octane, - the next Delphi release - to 100%. This is an adjustment to our previously published plan which had included an update to our Win32 Delphi technology in the Octane release.
i ask: Will the win32 compiler still be in place? Can i still use webbroker for further development of my apps if i upgrade? Was snatching up that deal on Delphi Studio 7 with Upgrade advantage a waste of time and money?
in the comments i found: Delphi for Win32 will continue to evolve as a product line in parallel with Delphi for .NET
does this mean we need to purchase two seperate products to develop in win32 and .net??????
Im confused
