Do you relly thing that this cannot be accomplished with a box that
reads "Download"?

But it isn't hidden at all!

Nah, the big "goal" should be to attract contributors (but before you
respond: I know this is not possible with a front-page)

The now "something". Right. But this "something" is very unclear. They
don't always know that this is an Office Suite.

People are used to downloading and finding a download link. They simply
look for "Download" somewhere on the page.
If that "Download" link is not hidden in some graffity people will find
it. That's my point.

I don't think that downloading is the #1 priority. It merely is one
thing that must be present on the front page (but this is a huge
difference).

Would you mind uploading a screenshot of what you see?

Just tried it. It took me quite long to identify this link in the mass
of other links.

So what? Where's the problem if it doesn't fit the heading 100%?

I get the impression that you want links to almost everything on the
front page. (ressources, documentatin, support, contribution, media kit,
news, mailing lists, .....)
The left navbar in Matthews design already contains 13 Links to choose
from.
IMHO this already is too much. This is fine for the developer pages,
but too much for the front page.

You can use css to hide them.

Feel free to do so.

ciao
