Hi,
I got one of these on 7/12/01 as well. I REALLY hate to say it, but in
this case I did not request the domain be transferred. I assume that
someone did, either by mistake or purposely. I also didn't receive
anything from the 'winning' registrar yet, so (God, this kills me) if
Register.com didn't send this e-mail, or if the default was to allow the
transfer to proceed if not denied, then I may have lost this domain if I
were taking a long weekend. I still don't like Register.com's policy,
ESPECIALLY the sales pitch, price comparison, and link to automatically
renew, that's in their transfer verification e-mail. But if the winning
registrar can't be depended upon to verify the transfers - well, draw
you own conclusions. I'm torn on this issue.
Hopefully, the winning registrar will send me a verification e-mail
soon, but I thought I should have received it before register.com's.
That's how it works when transferring to OpenSRS.

Register.com is still doing it, at least according to the text in
transfer
emails.
