Hello

I also have had same type of issue ... while moving a domain from
dotregistrar to Opensrs.

Opensrs says if an expired domain is just renewed and transferred within 45
days of renewal they will not add the year ... they further says that
loosing registrar gets the DRY refunded ...

While loosing registrar says "why we should return the DRY "...

I tired with ICANN too but no response till date ...

Thanks and Best Regards

Subject: Domain transfer renewal date dispute

I have a problem between two registrars. I asked for a domain to be
transferred from Netsol to Tucows in early December. Because the
domain had one of the old [EMAIL PROTECTED] addresses, it
expired on 12 Dec before I could confirm the transfer. Then Netsol refused
to transfer unless I paid them for a further year. I paid on Dec 31 for the
period 12 Dec 2001 to 12 Dec 2002, and they transferred on Jan 3 2002. But
Tucows only renewed it to Dec 2002.

When I queried them, I get two assertions:

1) Netsol : It could not have been transferred unless you renewed it. We
did renew the date, and can email you an invoice showing a renewal date of
2002.

2) Opensrs (aka Tucows, via register4less): We always add on time to the
existing date. If the current renewal date is now Dec 2002, we must have
received the domain dated Dec 2001.

So I have two stories, each making an assertion on what "must have"
happened. Is there any electronic record of this transaction that will
provide documentary proof of what the renewal date of the domain was at the
time of transfer? How would I get that?
