I would recommend against 1 and 1. A client was hosting with them for a while and it was nothing but trouble.
The grid service from Media Temple is awesome. Tons of features and a pretty low cost. Shell access can be toggled on or off per user. Up to 100 domains. 1 TB of bandwidth. PHP 4 or 5. It's pretty flexible and I've been nothing but impressed so far. It's 20 bucks a month or 100 for a year at a time. Support is really fast and very helpful.
