matt, Yes the members should be voicing their concerns and these concerns/opinions probably will be full spectrum but in the end in our litigious society today we have to include the suits to go over what we write up. In today's politically correct society we have to err on the side of caution.

I do believe that we need an attorney to look over what we decide, but I haven't read any suggestions that say a non-profit org needs an attorney to draft it, only that they should read it after we create it and approve it, or provide suggestions. The attorney part is up to the board, but I feel that the membership itself should have a say in the policy.
