Creating Policies for events that have never happened is just being
prepared. During my stint on our local School Board we were constantly
creating new policies for events that may have happened at other schools
but not at ours. Now a lot of these are CYAs but they make it clear
what to do in the event something happens.

Although I have never seen the type of harassment that has been
mentioned in the emails and the mentioned links it does happen. The
LOPSA code of ethics probably covers , in a broad sense, people being
professional but a person who does harass a person (in any manner) is
not acting professional. Just like a person committing a crime is not
acting rational. They may think it is rational but a normal law abiding
citizen doesn't do that. Just as a System Administrator, Programmer,
LOPSA Member etc who is a true Professional doesn't have this type of
action in their daily life and routine.

This is a good discussion but I think the Policy should be for the
Board to use in the event that something like this happens and maybe a
tweaking of the Code of Ethics might be in order.
