I have 2 SB3s (Slim Devices in silver and black even) and got the first one to free my digital music collection from the PC. Excellent move! But it's hooked up to my HT setup, and often times my wife or daughter are watching tv and I really don't want to watch what they're watching, so I find something else to do. Enter kitchen SB3. i find I use the kitchen SB3 by far the most, while cooking or doing dishes, and I'll queue up some of my daughter's music when we eat dinner (wife works second trick). It's worked out very well.
I do sync on occasion but it's mainly because I'm moving between the kitchen and the rest of the house and prefer to have a remote somewhat handy.
