I was still finding sync to be unreliable. So last night I moved the kitchen SBR to beside the living-room SB3, and confirmed (NOT via Controller - see separate thread) that the signal strength was about the same for both, though the SBR tended to give a slightly lower figure. Then I put the SB3 into the kitchen, and tried sync. It's worked perfectly ever since, even surviving the washing machine (though I've yet to try the microwave). This isn't ideal - I'd prefer to have the SB3 in the living-room (we do miss the display) - and I don't really understand the asymmetry (could the SBR really be less tolerant than the SB3?)
