Did the Nissan dealer change your vehicle ownership
over to their info and refuse to change it back?
<chuckle>
Nope; I never bought the car. But even if they had, it still would have
been the dealer's fault, and not Nissan's.
(Neither did this reseller refuse to change the information; he
simply chose to make the client jump through hoops to do so. I'll
say it again: Idiots)
Here in Atlanta, one of the largest Chevrolet dealers in the country
just went out of business (Bill Heard). They literally closed their
doors at a dozen dealerships with no notice on a Wednesday afternoon
and declared bankruptcy. The lots were all padlocked shut.
Dozens of people had purchases in limbo or were stuck with their car
in the service department and no way to get them out. I heard stories
of people who had paid for their vehicles but not yet taken delivery
and had no way to get the car that they had already purchased.
It's still playing out, so we don't know how it all ends. The
bankruptcy court now has to decide what to do with all of the cars
that are locked in at the dealerships.
But to date, I've not found anybody who claimed that any of this
was Chevrolet's responsibility.
