The Alinco radios could be on D-STAR so easy. One could probably even make a board to go where their non-standard digital card goes. The problem is user interface, you need to be able to set callsigns, etc. If they would just make D-STAR versions of the 135/235/435 models I would be ecstatic. Icom doesn't have to be involved in any way, Alinco just needs to follow the JARL specifications (including some of the enhancements we like, like GPS reporting and callsign squelch).
