All this 11 times or 30 times or 5 bajillion times faster is a load of
crap. Faster then what? Faster then my old 144k iDSL account, or my work
384k SDSL account, or my home 768k ADSL account that regularly runs in
the range of 1.2 to 1.9 Mbs.

In the future, tell them to drop the comparison speeds and just tell you
what the rated speed is for the connection. For ADSL, that will usually
be in the range of 640k to 1.5 Mbs (download, upload can vary widely on
ADSL). For Cable that is usually in the range of 500k to 5.0 Mbs (again,
download, as upload can run the full range of speeds based on what the
provider feels like setting it for).

And then be sure to ask them if they cap the speeds, and roughly how many
subscribers they have in your area.
