Most DSL providers don't give a darn what you do with the connection. You are paying for the full speed you get for 24x7 access. They don't care if you run at that full speed all the time. They don't care if you host servers. They don't care about much. Cable is very different. They DO care what you do with the bandwidth, because it isn't YOUR bandwidth. It is yours, and your neighbors, and possibly a large chunk of your town's. They don't like you using it all, all the time. They don't like you hosting servers. They don't like you doing much beyond basic use of the connection. I will probably never go Cable simple because of the limits they impose. If I'm paying each month for a connection, I want to do with it as I please. I don't want someone telling me that I downloaded too much data and so they cut me off. I don't want someone telling me I can't setup a VPN connection to acces my computer from another location. And most of all, I don't want my neighbor's 13 yr old wanna-be hax0r sniffing my connection! -chris <http://www.mythtech.net> ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a mail message with a SUBJECT line of "unsubscribe" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
