Most digital calipers seem to have a table on the back. Mine says 10.2mm for M12 x 1.75 (Which is no help, as this is M12 x 1.5) M10 x 1.5 is given as 8.5, which ties in well with the 10.5mm suggested for M12 x 1.5. I have heard that there used to be a rule that new tools (taps, files) were used only on brass until they started to go dull, then they would be transferred to work on steel and another brand-new tool would be brought in to work on brass. -- atp If you can't fix it, you don't own it. http://www.ifixit.com/Manifesto ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Site24x7 APM Insight: Get Deep Visibility into Application Performance APM + Mobile APM + RUM: Monitor 3 App instances at just $35/Month Monitor end-to-end web transactions and take corrective actions now Troubleshoot faster and improve end-user experience.
