I presume machine units. My machine is a little unique in that the Z
axis zero is actually the table, and when it homes it's actually 2.4"
above the table. After homing, with no G code or offsets loaded, the
DRO should show machine units, correct?
For the compensation you want to use the machine units (ie the
absolute position along the physical slide)

Just to remove any doubt (not everyone is familiar with scientific
notation). Those e-05 and e-09 numbers mean "basically zero"
Yes, I knew that. Just posted what value the machine was actually
showing. The dash between the e and the numbers is actually a minus
sign showing simpler notation than 10 to the minus 5 or 9 in those two
cases.
