I think that it's probably more likely that the group uses some mechanism
analogous to the AppleScript 'find' command to check that the email address
(still) belongs to the contact. It will get a "YES" if the address if either
default or non-default. This would be much, much faster than checking for
'default email address' property (which is not the same as 'email address 1'
in Entourage, indices relate to order of creation). It may do this check for
every single group member when you open the group, so speed would be
essential.
