I just got the Elan 7e. Its instruction manual discusses the use of
the 7e with the 420EX and the 550EX but is silent on the issue of the
380EX, which I got with my Elan II a few years ago. Does anyone know
how the 380EX will function with the 7e? I wasn't looking forward to
purchasing a new flash at this time.
The comparison of the 380 and the 420 on "daves" chart
(http://www.kjsl.com/~dave/speedlites.html) shows that the 420 has
slightly higher guide numbers, wireless slave capability and a
modeling light, but little else that's different.
Thanks for any suggestions you may have. The Canon website turned up
nothing that I could find.
