Julian is correct.
Only the EOS-3 and 1V will auto focus to f8.0, which is what an f5.6 with
1.4 TC becomes, all other current EOS bodies requires effective aperture
f5.6, which renders AF non-functional when the EF100-400 is used with either
Canon TCs or any 3rd party TC (usually their "Pro" models) that actually
pass the effective aperture information from the lens to the camera body.
