What interpupillary distance is involved? If it is "normal",
would the Pentax beam splitter be of any use? (as mentioned on
the Nikon website!)

P.S. The CMOS 4066 will still share a ground (Vcc) and has
protection diodes on the inputs. If presented with overvoltage,
the diodes are there to protect the 4066 and not the two EOS
cameras! Maybe an optoisolator instead?
