Hi all,
with regard to the lag time: is there really a problem? I agree that the time
between pressing the shutterbutton and the opening of the shutter itself can be
different on different camera models, but I wonder if this time difference is
largly due to the fact that on different cameras it will take dissimilar times
to calculate exposure and do AF. I would think that the lag between halfpressing
the shutterbutton (after the camera has had plenty of time to do its
calculations) and the final exposure is to a large degree equal for different
models. Or is there even a big performance difference with regard to mirror and
shutter speed? It would even be possible to rule out the mirror time lag
difference if the mirror could be opened manually before taking the picture (I
believe that some camera's offer this feature). So in this case both cameras
would only have to open the shutter. I can't imagine that the lag times for this
simple task would differ a lot on the various camera models.
Just my 2cents,
Bart
