Sorry this doesn't answer your question, but I am debtating whether to get Rebel 2000 
or Elan 7 (my current body died).  What is it about the Rebel 2000 that you outgrew?  
Was it just the faster fps, the metering, and the mirror lockup or is it something 
else in addition?  
 
I assume that the Rebel 2000 only uses matrix metering, how often have you found the 
need for a spot meter (BTW, the Elan 7 doesn't have a "true" spot meter, but only 10%).
