Hi Collyer,
I have a 28-135 IS, the 500D and extension tubes. And I could
not finde enough information in your question to write an answer.
What format of EOS camerae are you using?
How close do you want/need to get?
How much magnification do you want/need?
Will you use a tripode?
Are you going to use flashe as the main light?
Howe about a dedicated macro lense? Bellowes? Reversing ringse?
How much are you willinge to spend?
Cheers
