I would like to thank all those who have responded.
Yes, I meant 2-3 feet instead of 2-3 METERS.
No, I did not realize that the Canon EF 28-135mm IS focuses down to 1.6
feet.
I chose the EOS 1v body due to its reliability and durability as my
equipment is usually not pampered.
The body and lense arrive next week and I will test the combination to see
if it meets my needs as I feel this will be the final judge of my equipment
selection.
