IS on most video cameras is done electronicaly. AFAIK the sensor is a
big bigger then the actual output. Simplified, any shake is offset by
shifting the acquired image around. Now IS on the Canon lenses is an
optical correction where a lens element compensates for the introduced
shake. Nevertheless, I think on of Canon's high-end digital video
cameras also uses optical IS and I think some other companies as Sony
have introduced similar systems.
