All of my lenses (except for a Russian T-mount fisheye) are Canon, so I've never had this problem. BUT, if memory serves, the EOS 3 did "break" a number of Sigma lenses. And probably the only reason the 1v didn't is because Sigma had already redesigned it's lenses to work on the 3.
