After reading this thread, I wonder what I am missing. I always rename my images as I download them from the camera, partly to follow the naming convention I used back when I scanned film photos, but mostly to help organize/identify them (epsecially for the benefit of a team/editor who will receive the photos).
What are the advantages of keeping the file names the same as the camera creates them?
