I don't have two EOS bodies but I do have a G2 and a
10D. I rename the files after downloading to include
the camera name (e.g. CRW_10D_2742.crw). BreezeBrowser
helps here since it includes a batch rename facility
that can include the camera name as a token.

For two identical bodies I'd adopt the approach to
include (part of) the serial number - again BreezeBrowser
has a token for this!

A further refinement would be Downloader Pro (also
from Breeze sys - I don't work for them, honest) that
could automate the entire download and rename process
when a CF card was inserted.

It's possible
1) Take a single shot on a blank CF card
2) Set the camera to "continuous numbering"
3) Using a card reader, modify the filename to
reflect the number required (e.g. IMG_2742.JPG
changed to IMG_9000.JPG)
4) Change the directory name (CANON127) to
the appropriate name (CANON190)
5) Take another photo...

It's only possible increase the file number using
these steps. Do decrease it you need to first set the
camera to "reset numbering" to get the internal counter
back to 0001 before performing the above procedure.

Keep in mind that the counter wraps at 9999.
