I had a 19" Viewsonic for years and loved it. Then when it finally died I got a
Mitsubishi 19" and loved that.

But last year I picked up quite cheap, a used NEC LCD 18" monitor and I'm never
going back to CRTs. I was blown away by the accurate colour and incredible
midtones. I could never get midtones like this on any CRT monitor.

I had, for a short time an HP 17" LCD monitor that was really lovely too. My
wife has a really cheap 15" LCD and that is also excellent. I don't think you
have to pay a lot for an LCD monitor.

I used to tweak and adjust my CRTs to try and get accurate colour and dynamic
range but with LCDs you don't have to do that.
