Subject: Re: [COUPERS-TECH] Headsets Redux

Does anyone remember the exact wording of the original post? I don't, and
I'm not going to look for it, either. I think I've found a good reply and
suggestion, but can't be sure since the original message was not attached.

Speaking of headsets, I've got a story about wearing them in the 415C and
wondered if anyone else had the problem and what was done to correct it.
Once, while flying with the convertible top down, as we are required to do
here in Texas, I hiked myself up straight in the seat, allowing the top of
my head to catch a bit of the airstream, I guess. My DC's were pulled
almost completely off and I know they wouldn't have survived the fall if
they were. I guess that's why we don't wear our ten gallon hats in the
Coupes. Happen to anyone else?

I did almost that exact same thing shortly after I started flying my friends
A2 regularly.

It was a beautiful February day in South Florida and I was flying, with the
canopy open, formation with another friend in his 415C on the way home from
a fly in. I had on my favorite flying ball cap under my David Clarks. I sat
up tall in the seat so I could see him better off my right front quarter and
POOF! My cap was gone and my headphones rotated back around my ears and
stopped at my shoulders. I hope the alligators in the Everglades are
enjoying my hat!

It was kind of startling but it is the kind of lesson you only have to learn
once.
