There is an air of teasing in your posts, Steve. It's usually not polite
to tease people you don't know well.

Again, let's give him the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps he has ten
people he wants to let drive the car on the 'record-breaking run'.
Perhaps he just wants the average speed to be low because of the rate
his device can deliver power.

Do what you would do for any engineering demonstration / magic show. Go
to be entertained and educated. Watch closely. Ask questions. Keep an
open mind.
