It's a common move in philosophy and even in speculative science. Penrose saw that consciousness and quantum gravity are both mysteries and so wrote a book about how that combined them into one. But it's not generally successful and having two mysteries is not evidence they are related.


That does makes sense, since an essential part of the mind work is to create improbable things.

Improbable things get created all the time without minds.
