Dan,
Although I am in direct opposition to the idea of adding valved shocks
and/or coil springs to F500, I have to say that I have spent a
considerable amount of time repairing cracked frame welds on my car.
My solution has been to add gusseting or other additional support
whenever I have a problem; so far, it's working.
I'd love to not have to continually re-engineer the frame design for
longevity (after the fact, no less), but this is FAR cheaper and less
trouble than dealing with spring/shock packages and the resulting
tuning effort.
An open question:
Of those who are in favor of spring/shock addition to F500 - how many
of you have actually campaigned a formula car with springs and shocks
in National-level Club racing? [FWIW, I'm not trying to be harsh, but
I am trying to see if we all actually understand what this really
entails.]

Subject: RE: [F500] Shock Talk for Chuck and Jay
Is everyone breaking suspension components or something??? I never
thought my car had a rough ride and i never broke any suspension parts
so im wondering where the push for shocks is even coming from, can
anyone fill me in on what kind of problems this is causing?
