I'll add something else to that. I'm into astronomy and can spend all night
staring at distant galaxies through my telescope and wondering whether there is
life out there. Nature is awesome and I have a deep sense of wonder about it's
mysteries and functions. The more you know about life, the more amazing it
gets. And the more precious. I have the same sense of wonder of anybody else
who ever lived. It's that that makes me want to learn more, it's just the sort
of answers we are prepared to accept around here are different.
For me to think that there must be some sort of creator behind it takes
something away from it. That it, and we, are self propelled through a giant
universe of unknown wonders is enough on its own without inventing reasons for
it to be *more* special. The old ways of looking at the world are great fun,
mainly to see how other civilisations have seen their place compared to ours.
But there comes a time when you have to ditch the superstitions in place of the
cold hard reality.
Douglas Adams put it best:
"It's enough to know that a garden is beautiful without thinking there are
fairies at the bottom of it as well"
Of course, if god sticks his head through the clouds next week and tells us
where we went wrong, we'll all be happy!
I'm good with that and it isn't that I think that there is necessarily some
Being that looks like a person that is responsible for all of this but there is
order, and intelligence and incredible creativity within the diversity. I am
realistic and optimistic enough to figure not only do I not know a fraction of
what is really going on but that I am not capable of knowing, at this point.
But one thing - I don't believe we live in a random universe; intelligence is
everywhere. Now whether that intelligence emanates from a single source or is
pervasive in all things, has origins everywhere, that is another question. I
guess, for me, I see not only the creation but sense what is behind it all - I
feel very fortunate in this way.

LOL, good choice of pictures. I like the one of me particularly.
But really, there's nothing here that had a designer. The nebula is beautiful
but it's just a cloud of gas lit from inside by the stars within. It's actually
visible to the naked eye in the constellation of Orion. Quite amazing to think
of stars forming out of swirling gas and out of that gas will form planets,
they are made of denser material than the hydrogen of most stars. This dense
stuff came from stars exploding when they collapse at the end of their life,
the pressures and heat force subatomic particles together to make everything we
are made of. Very well understood. No god required.
Evolution is also well understood, no need to point out the errors of the
"intelligent design" crowd eh?

"“Help comes only from the Unified Field,” - Do you have any idea how creepy
this sounds? I hope there aren't any genuine scholars reading this, they'd be
edging towards the door by now...
When you say unified field you mean god. Why not just admit it? The idea that
there is a vast intelligence behind nature is ridiculous. It's a belief without
evidence. It also seems to be completely unnecessary as there isn't anything
that can't be explained without it. These aren't the hallmarks of a great
theory.
I really have to disagree here, take a look. This is evidence enough for me...
