The first spinning I did was on Romney which was very available in 
the 70's.  It is a wonderful first fleece.  Not too fine, usually 
open and easy to draft.  I now spin Border Leicester and BL Blueface 
Leicester crosses.  My Bls tend to be on the soft side and the combo 
is very nice.  I sell all I put out there to sell.  It cards up 
beautifully and is low grease so easy to wash.
