I don't post often, but love to read the posts. But this looked like fun.
I started out with what I now know to most likely be a corridale cross fleece. I never really got far with that (still have a lot of it!), and moved on to spinning fluff from my Jersey Wooly rabbits I raised. I hated wool for a long time, and only spun angora, alpaca, mohair with any success. I finally have moved up, and over the last few years have come to love merino, angora, and alpaca, and find myself focusing on the rare breeds of wool, such as Leicester longwools, churro, Black Welsh Mountain, California Reds, and CVM. If it is a rare breed, and has at least a 2.5 inch staple, I want to try it! I don't think I have a favorite type of fleece perse, it's more the history of the breed that intrigues me.
