Like many, my first fleece was a lovely creamy romney, and I still have a few ounces of it that I saved, all these years later! I still love to spin romney, think it's just a great all-around wool, great for many uses. Currently spinning some romney roving, blended with a very small amount of mohair for some color interest. I really would like to get my fingers into some BFL or BL but don't find many local suppliers. There is a great source for US Shetland, practically right in my own backyard, though, and the shepardess also has Shetland x Finn rovings which are to die for. On another wheel, some natural Soay that is spinning up quite fine.
