I believe the 69's all had external regulators also. The regulator mounts on the firewall above the right valve cover. My project has several wires coming out by the brake booster and the prior owner labeled them but not clearly. It looks like he wrote "regulator" on them as if they are for a voltage regulator but I was pretty sure the 69 alternator has an internal regulator. Maybe not, anyone know off the top of their head?
