Indiver, FOSS holds some "political" as well as "legal" issues too. FOSS is about "Copy Left" which has a deep ideological belief on "Liberalism".
"Free software is a matter of liberty, not price." This sentence is quoted from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_software#Definition . This clearly says that Free == Freedom, Free =/= Zero Cost. As far as I know Free(dom)==स्वतन्त्र(ता) So, "स्वतन्त्र तथा खुल्ला सफ्टवेर" translate FOSS well. Besides that, in many countries FOSS has become so wide that they have open source cola, open source bear, open source governance! FOSS should have a very broad concept like... e-democracy. So, we should not fear from using the word "स्वतन्त्रता". If we fear to use the word, it may mean that we are "enslaved" by the bad political situation of Nepal... :) Buddy On Jun 18, 12:51 am, "Indiver Badal" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > It it not important to translate literally but instead the real > meaning/ideology/philosophy behind it has to be translated.
