I assume the PSU that died was the original one that came with the mac. Did
you replace it with a standard ATX PSU? If so check that the jumper on the
mobo (situated by the PCI slots) is set to ATX rather than Mac PSU.

Strangely my beige has had it set to ATX from the factory.
