Hi Davy, Fair enough. Yes, I agree XAudio 2 is definately not ready for the prime time. The DirectX 8 and DirectX 9 com components should still have a long shelf life on them seeing as the Auggest 2007 SDK is still current. A developer can always offer that runtime on his or her web site as I do until there is a major need to convert the games code base over to XAudio, XInput, etc... Also do to finances etc the blind computer market generally runs far behind the industry standards and commercial markets anyway which extends how long a DirectX 8 based engine will last. A large majority of blind games are written in VB 6 with DirectX 8, and while it is far behind industry standards I look for the games to last quite a bit longer since the market has pretty much settled on the Windows XP platform for most of the users out there.
