Hi Dark,
Okay...That's something of a big problem. I know you said you don't have
an XP cd, but do you have a product recovery partition on your hard drive?
I ask because most new computers don't come with installation disks any
more. With my Compaq laptop I have to install Vista from a product
recovery partition already present on the laptop's hard drive. There is
an option to burn it to a cd or dvd, but by and large it is done by
starting up the computer and running the install from a hard drive
partition. If not it might be helpful to get a copy of XP for just these
kinds of emergencies.

I'd really rather not reformat if I can avoid it, not the least
because I don't have a windows xp disk and it'd mean taking my
computer 100 miles back to Nottingham to get it done.
as for user accounts, ---- I hate! the things, sinse every single
problem my pc has ever had has derived from them.
I didn't actually remove outlook express while installing java, -----
I installed Java and the access bridge first, this just randomly
happened when i attempted to fix that removal with a system restore
unfortunately.
Beware the grue!
Dark.
