Hey Edmund,

With your setup, are you always connected to the
outside world?  I am assuming that because of the
router that you do not have to login via PPPOE.  I
have taken a look at what is involved in upgrading the
Alcatel SpeedTouch Home to a Pro version.  It does not
appear to be a major deal.  However, what it looks
like is that you end up with the modem and router
functions (i.e., NAT) taken care by one piece of
hardware instead of two.

If Mat does not end up with the router, I would be
willing to make the swap for whatever quantity of beer
you deem appropriate.

Thanks for your help thus far.  I do not expect the
SpeedTouch modem to be in my hands until the 13th.
