Hey Edmund, I am going to go with the SpeedTouch modem and interface with my already installed NIC. My concern was that I would not be provided all of the IP addresses that would be required to get an Internet connection up and running. I was not planning on doing anything fancy...yet. I am not looking to access this particular PC from the outside world. Will I have a problem w/o a DYNDNS capable router? What would really be great is if I could disconnect my Telocity gateway, plug in the new modem, modify a couple config files and be done with it. Each moment that passes gets me in greater trouble with the wife.
P.S. Can I apply the case o' beer to technical support. The modem is free with the special Bellsouth is running to entice DirectTV customers to use their service. ===== Failure is NOT an option! That is why I use Linux... __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable. Sign up now. http://mailplus.yahoo.com
