Which I think means, they won't assign someone to comb through their backup media, find the ones that include your account's storage, restore to temporary storage space, then go through the messages to find the ones you were missing, and merge them back into the database for your account. Have you ever needed to restore even one file from your own backup tapes or discs (assuming you run backups)? Now multiply that by a few million. If this were Google Apps and you were paying for it, maybe then there would be an expectation of service. But not when you get it for free. If it is is a problem seen regularly by Gmail customers, then probably Google is trying to find and fix it. I understand you "checked everything" but that's not conclusive. No offense intended. It's just that the human factor is the biggest variable in the picture and none of us is infallible.
