I do what you do (on my PC screen), but I tell patient that guidelines
recently changed (so I don't insult his old GP).  Further I also have no
sympathy for these Dr's, however they cost PBS millions, which is why I made
my postings - think of all the money that can be saved.  The second reason I
started with this thread was to illustrate that Dr's don't read or educate
themselves.  

I was only painting a typical scenario which frequently happens.

I show the patient the entry for lacatulose in the PBS yellow book (will
have to do it online soon) and point out the restrictions.

I have no sympathy for any doctor who prescribes PBS items fraudulently. The
PBS rules are clear enough.

Does this really bother you?  Is there or is there not a shortage of GPs in
Australia?  Do you really need patients who expect you to do illegal things
for their benefit?
