Les, as the author of the comment > Another slack NZ company maybe :) I feel I should explain why I made that comment and maybe try to convince you to stay on the list. It was said in a light hearted manner but yes they have pissed me off considerably over the years. If I did not have a sense of humour and the nouse to ignore some of the anti-microsoft sentiment whilst reading this list I would have left years ago. Some of the support staff (struth) there are giving 110% effort (as you said) to support their customers here in Aust but and its a very big BUT 1. When the boss of support questioned my state of mind in a business email to try and deflect attention away from the glaring defiencies in his support departments performance you quickly lose interest in dealing with a company. He was so inept that I replied via email and challenged him to continue his attack on my state of mind in this forum and cc 'ed in several other of his work collegues. It took him several replies back and forth before he realised most of his staff were also reading the emails. 2. And that was after he begged me to drive 60kms to help one of his clients and then never paid me for the work I did. I briefly contemplated flying to NZ to do some serious debt collecting but decided he and the company was not worth it. He has now been promoted, go figure. 3. One of the senior developers tried to blame everything under the sun besides his own code when an update turned several on my ( and their clients too) servers into dogs. He wanted me to completely disable the anti virus software on my clients network to see if it made a difference to the performance and could not understand why I would not do that on a network with a broadband connection and over 15 staff using email and the web. Thankfully he later left the company. 4. They also refused to divulge the encryption keys to another of my clients when they wanted to change clinical apps. And at one point even denied they were encrytping. They ended up losing years worh of medical histories becaue of this. Part of the companies contract states (something like this) if you decide to leave we will export your data into a recognised format at commercial rates. They then quoted a sum in the region of $20K Aust. Is that a fair commercial rate ? 5. Their support went downhill when they lost their Sunshine Coast based tech and never recovered. And the tech was left out of pocket. THe replacement field tech was so inept he was dangerous. Which is a big shame because if you had READ some of my earlier comments over the years it is a 'great clinical package' streets ahead of the pack. I am guessing here but I assume you are a user of this software and this is why you are offended by my comments. I did not mean to offend but if we cannot have honest comment in this forum why are we bothering ? I personally participate in this forum with an open mind in the hope I can improve doctors use of technology to improve patient care. But when a spade needs to be called a spade I will. Maybe this particular company is still monitoring this forum and will try the HCN attitude of legal threats. Well if they are go for it. Go hard. But remember the client you annoyed by locking them out of their data and remember that it is against Aust law to do so and Doctors tend to have good long term memories. cheers, Andrew Cameron Gold Coast.

However, looking back, I see I have had no useful contributions to make on this list, so I guess I don't need to keep reading this stuff in the hopes of ever contributing in the future. Unsubscribing now. Bye. Les Ferguson.
