Bob,

Yeh the "no parts" thing didn't sound right. They normally hit you up for a
gasket or two whatever they do...I asked about the valve cover gasket. They
said they don't normally replace it. The manual does not say to replace it
every time just to replace if worn. Actually I replaced it myself last year
to stop a slight oil leak...wish I'd gone the extra step to check the
clearances now...

Joe.

Don't remember how many hours but that seems small to me. I got a map of
the valves and which ones had shims replaced and what sizes they are
now. I'm real surprised the valve cover gasket didn't need replacing. My
valves (either intake or exhaust don't remember which) were just
slightly tight so the next size up shim was used. Throttle body was also
sync'd along with chain and sprocket replacement all at the same time on
mine. Also had the front end rebuilt (those A arm bearing were dust) so
my bill was pretty hefty. Bob B.

Took the GTS in to the local Boulder Yamaha dealer to get the valve
clearances done.
